The Challenge

Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, play often becomes a forgotten activity, especially for university students poised on the threshold of "adult life."

Adult play offers a vital break from work and commitments, providing an opportunity for unstructured, creative social interaction. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, the simple joys are frequently overlooked.

Lloyds Banking Group aimed to address this with a straightforward brief: to highlight its partnership with Mental Health UK and bring smiles to students' faces.

Our Solution

Using three seesaws to create a brief escape from daily routines, the installation provided students with an opportunity to interact and play with friends and strangers, offering moments of laughter and release.

As the day grew darker, the seesaws glowed green, attracting students and encouraging them to join in the fun.

While no data was collected, as that wasn't the campaign's purpose, we distributed well-being cards offering students tips on self-care. This initiative also highlighted the importance of Lloyds Banking Group's partnership with Mental Health UK in ensuring its staff received the best support and advice.

The campaign achieved tremendous engagement with students and we distributed over 400 well-being cards each day on average.

Owing to their success, the seesaws were featured in two additional campaigns and have now been relocated to a children's playground, where they continue to bring joy and smiles to people!
